Man accused of killing girlfriend in east Las Vegas valley appears in court

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The man accused of killing his girlfriend earlier this month and then turning himself in days later appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom on Tuesday.

Israel Zamora, 23, communicated with Judge Joseph Sciscento via a sign language interpreter during his initial appearance.

A criminal complaint was filed formally charging Zamora with open murder and assault with a deadly weapon and a bail hearing was scheduled for Monday, June 26.
